The Audi A6 Allroad Is Back With Muscle in the Fenders and Screens on the Dash
Wagon fans in the United States finally have something to cheer about. Audi is sending over a new A6 Allroad, a lifted longroof with broad shoulders and a cabin that looks like it was built around its screens. It rides higher, looks tougher, and borrows a few styling cues from one of Audi’s hottest performance models.

Those wide fenders give the Allroad a planted, slightly aggressive look that calls to mind the RS6 Avant. It does not pack the same firepower as that performance icon, yet the family resemblance is hard to miss.
The numbers back up the muscle. Audi says the Allroad runs 4.3 inches wider than the A6 Avant sold only in Europe. That extra width, paired with the taller ride height, gives the car the rugged yet refined personality that has always defined the Allroad badge. For shoppers who want the practicality of a wagon without the soft, ordinary silhouette, this is a welcome look.
Sitting Tall on Air
Ride height is a big part of the Allroad story, and Audi gave this one its own setup. The wagon uses Allroad-specific adaptive air suspension that lets it sit 1.3 inches higher than the previous model. Drivers also get 2.2 inches of adjustable range, so the car can hunker down on the highway or climb up for a rough gravel road or a snowy driveway.
That flexibility is the whole point of buying an Allroad over a standard wagon. You get the long roof and the easy cargo loading, plus enough clearance to handle the kind of weather and back roads that send most low-slung luxury cars running for cover. When folks compare a premium wagon vs SUV, this is exactly the middle ground the Allroad has always tried to claim, and the new one leans into it harder than before.
A Cabin Built Around Glass
Step inside and the changes mirror the sedan almost exactly. That means a lot of screens. The dashboard carries an 11.9-inch digital gauge cluster and a 14.5-inch central infotainment display. Buyers can also add a 10.9-inch screen for the front passenger, so the person riding shotgun gets their own slice of the action.
Audi did more than stack up displays, though. Engineers worked on the steering, making every component between the wheel and the tires stiffer so the car feels more direct in your hands. They also chased a quieter ride by adding extra sound insulation and offering acoustic glazing on the side glass. Long road trips should feel calmer and more hushed than they did in the outgoing model.
What Powers It and What It Might Cost
Europe gets a plug-in hybrid built around a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, plus an optional 3.0-liter turbodiesel V-6. Neither of those is expected to cross the Atlantic. Instead, the U.S. version should use the same 362-horsepower turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 and seven-speed dual-clutch automatic found in the A6 sedan we already get here.
Pricing for America has not been announced. For reference, the European model starts at the equivalent of $89,659, a figure that includes taxes and fees. The current Allroad opens at $74,395 in the United States, so a price bump looks likely when the new one shows up.
Why This Matters for Wagon Lovers
Audi could have left American buyers out of the longroof party again, the way it did with the Avant. Instead, the new A6 Allroad gives wagon holdouts a fresh reason to stick around. It looks sharper, sits taller, drives quieter, and packs the kind of tech-heavy cabin shoppers now expect. Look for it on U.S. roads sometime in 2027, and keep an eye out for official pricing as that date gets closer.
