2025 Audi A6 e-tron: Electric Game Changer Or Just Another Electric Option

2025 Audi A6 e-tron: Electric Game Changer Or Just Another Electric Option

Audi increases the number of e-tron models. The latest addition is the new 2025 Audi A6 e-tron, which could be an exciting addition.

Instead of changing the naming structure of its models, Audi simply adds the term “e-tron” to the end of the name of its current lineup, signifying an EV. This makes us wonder of new electric models from Audi are true game changers that can shake up the EV world, or simply electric versions of the gas-powered models from the brand.
Let’s use the 2025 Audi A6 e-tron as an example.

An Audi without AWD

We’ve gotten so accustomed to Audi adding standard Quattro AWD to nearly every vehicle in the lineup, which means an EV that only drives the rear wheels seems a bit different. The new A6 e-tron starts with an RWD model that delivers 375 horsepower to the wheels and should return a driving range of up to 392 miles. You can have an AWD version, which adds a second motor and increased power to 456 horsepower. As you would expect, there’s also a sporty version called the S6 e-tron, which has a dual-motor powertrain that produces 543 horsepower.

Audi claims the RWD A6 e-tron can hit 60 mph in less than 5.2 seconds, and the Quattro AWD model can do this in 4.3 seconds. This is pretty quick but still falls behind many other electric vehicles.

Something different

The gas-powered A6 is a sedan in every sense of the word. It’s easily one of the most sensible luxury cars you’ll find, and it can be a great vehicle to drive. The new 2025 Audi A6 e-tron takes a different approach, which makes it look more like the current A7. The electric model has a sloping rear roofline that makes this car a hatchback with a sloped roof. In Audi vernacular, this is called a Sportback, and that means it has a much larger cargo area than the regular A6.

Set up the A6 e-tron right

The Audi A6 e-tron can be had with an air spring suspension system and adaptive dampers with unique driving modes. This system can lower the ride height for improved aerodynamic efficiency. In its normal settings, this electric sedan might be adequate and certainly is comfortable enough for your daily commute, but when you adjust the settings, you’ll feel the activity of the car increase. This electric sedan also delivers adjustable levels of regenerative braking capability, making it easy for you to capture the energy from braking the way you want.

Does it charge quickly?

The 94.4-kWh battery pack should give the 2025 Audi A6 e-tron up to 370 miles of electric range. If you add the Ultra package, that figure increases to 392 miles. The AWD model can deliver 333 miles of driving range and 377 miles with the Ultra package. This car can charge at a rate of 270 kW, which means it should be able to charge from 10 to 80 percent of the full battery capacity in only 21 minutes.

Advanced tech from Audi

As you would expect from any Audi vehicle, the cabin of this new electric sedan is incredibly comfortable, well-styled, and filled with advanced technology. You’ll see several screens in the cabin and a panoramic glass roof that changes from transparent to opaque. There’s lots of room for adults in the rear seat, making this a comfortable sedan for four adults to enjoy a ride together. There’s a ton of cargo space behind the rear seats thanks to the sloping hatchback-styled roofline and a small frunk under the hood.

Excellent tech

The dashboard houses a large panoramic display that houses three screens across the dashboard. Behind the steering wheel is an 11.9-inch digital gauge cluster; in the center of the dashboard, you’ll find a 14.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and the passenger can have a 10.9-inch display if you check the right boxes. You’ll also see an augmented-reality head-up display that’s projected on the windshield. The Bang & Olufsen audio system has up to 20 speakers, making it easy for you to enjoy the sounds you want to hear.

The jury is still out

Is the new 2025 Audi A6 e-tron a game-changing sedan or just an electric option of the regular model? It could change the game with its hatchback build, but it doesn’t have the neck-snapping quickness you expect in a high-powered EV. Still, this new electric luxury sedan has a lot going for it to make it a great choice when you’re looking for the latest EV to hit the market.
